Deep CellTech foundations are designed to help you inspect your brood. We’ve chosen a black background as the color for our deep brood box foundations because it makes it easier for you to inspect your hive’s white brood eggs against the dark background.
The foundations have been coated in 100% all-natural beeswax so that bees will quickly and evenly form comb. Without a waxed foundation, bees are prone to producing spotty comb.
Each frame and foundation has been cut using industry-standard measurements to ensure compatibility. They will fit both 8 and 10 frame Langstroth hives.

Their high-quality food-grade plastic foundations have been coated in a thick layer of 100% natural beeswax to help promote a quick and even layer of cells. Without a waxed foundation, bees are prone to producing spotty comb. Deeply cut cell impressions (1.7mm) allow for worker bees to take notice of the cell design and place beeswax in the uniform pattern.
The wooden frames are lightweight and made from Pine that has been responsibly sourced from the forests of New Zealand. This pine quickly regrows in New Zealand’s fertile soil. It has a grain flow that handles the meticulous cuts that are necessary for the grooves we use in the frames to hold the foundations.
Each frame and foundation has been cut using industry-standard measurements to ensure compatibility. Durably crafted they won’t bend under extreme conditions like the centrifugal force of an extractor.
