“The Northern Style Plus” hive is perfect for beekeeping in states with long winters. A colder climate shortens the beekeeping season which means you can’t open the hive to add boxes early in the year. For this reason, it’s recommended to have two dedicated Amish-made brood boxes. “The Northern Style Plus” setup gives your queen plenty of room to lay her spring brood in. The first, second, and third supers would then be dedicated to honey production.
